Welcome! I'm a graphic designer who specializes in branding, lettering, and illustration.
Designing logos is one of my favorite things to do. This is a collection of logos I have designed, many of which feature custom lettering.
I worked with Crate & Barrel to concept and design a few products for their artist’s line. We created a Mother’s Day teacup, a set of ceramic typographic holiday ornaments, and a limited edition house ornament to raise money for Rebuilding Together.
I designed these various Instagram promotions for different events and sales, including Etsy Dallas events, sales for our product business, and for my band, The BenYays.
35 Denton is a 3-day walkable music festival programmed in the burgeoning arts corridor in downtown Denton, Texas. I designed the branding for the 2016 event, which included a new logo, colors inspired by the festival’s namesake (Interstate-35), and inspiring festival photography.
St. Edward School is a Catholic Elementary school in New Iberia, Louisiana. I worked with them to update their brand by assessing their visual needs, redrawing their logos, and creating an identity standards guide.
First, I updated the crest to be more clean, readable, and pleasing. I did this by removing unnecessary details, improving the spaces between shapes, and using typefaces that were clear.
St. Edward’s mascot is the panda. I redrew the Panda to look younger, hold up better at small sizes, and look more contemporary. My goal was to create a logo that the students of St. Edward would love.
Finally, I designed a new stationery set, and created some mockups for a tote bag, a coffee mug, and an embroidered uniform polo.
To launch our company, Landry Print Co., I designed our first collection of products around a custom ampersand. The collection includes a t-shirt, an enamel pin, 2 temporary tattoos, a sketch book, and an 11 x 14 inch screen print. The collection is available for purchase here.
This is a collection of various illustrations I have created. From top to bottom, left to right: Bicycle Map, Nick Bell, Artist’s Rube Goldberg, Bulldog, Sausage Dog, and Baseball.
This is a collection of self-initiated lettering projects. Whether it’s just drawing decorative characters or using a laser cutter to create a sculpture, I really enjoy exploring materials and styles with lettering.
I designed this Sherlock Holmes Book Cover for Bender Bound, a company that sells books with a hidden flask inside the pages. The lettering and illustration are all custom, and it is printed with a gold foil on brown leather.
This is a collection of art prints I have designed and screen printed over several years. They range in content, colors, and styles but are all 18 x 24 inches in size. From top to bottom: Octopus Vulgaris, E Pluribus Unum, King of Beers, Bottoms Up!, Denton Courthouse 1, Denton Courthouse 2, Vinylcycle, and Louisiana Egret.
I worked with BBDO Chicago to hand-letter quotes for Bayer Aspirin's I Am ProHeart Facebook page. The quotes were pulled from the I Am ProHeart community, a group of heart event survivors and their loved ones.
This collection represents a 50 day creative project. I discovered that the Merriam-Webster website releases a “Word of the Day” through its social media accounts. As a person interested in lettering, this seemed like the perfect content for me. For 50 straight days, I created a customized type treatment for the word of the day. Here you can see a poster and some of my favorite results from the project.
In order to facilitate a speedy methodology, I set many restrictions for myself. No typefaces could be used; each letter would be drawn from scratch. I only used the color black. Each word would have to be finished that day, and I would try to spend one to two hours per word. I tried my best to not repeat the type styles. Sometimes, if a word lent itself to a conceptual treatment, I would attempt it. Many days though, I simply pursued a typographic design that I wanted to try, without regard for what the word meant. Planning a daily creative project, and actually sticking to it, was a very rewarding endeavor. The daily work expanded my vocabulary as well as my lettering abilities.
