This course, Graphic Design 3, is titled “Information
Design” and will cover an important but often unnoticed
area of design. Graphic Design’s essential function is to communicate and the spread of information is a vitally important task. Information can convince us to change
our diet, leave our umbrellas at home, or cause a nation
to go to war. Therefore, how information is designed and
then used can have immense consequences.
We will tackle a variety of projects intended to challenge
your way of thinking about design and its function. Our textbook will guide us through a variety of logical techniques for displaying information. The goal of this class is to give
you the tools necessary to make good decisions about how information should be displayed for consumption.
