Spring's Awakening
John Poole, head of the School of Theatre at Illinois State University, gave me about a week to create a poster for the school's production of Spring's Awakening. With my full teaching schedule, I didn't have time to read the script, all I knew was that it had mature content. I decided that the disclaimer would be the concept for the poster, with a large black censorship box covering some decoration in the background. John had a hard time accepting the poster but with some compromise he finally saw the light.
